Copyright Policy

Effective Date: October 12, 2026

Trenzi respects the rights of creators, musicians and rights holders, and expects everyone who uses Trenzi to do the same. This page explains how to tell us that something on Trenzi infringes your copyright, including music and sounds, and what happens next. It is part of our Terms of Service.

1. Music and Sounds on Trenzi

Music in the Trenzi sound library comes from three places:

2. Report a Sound in the App

The quickest way to report music is from the app: open the sound’s page (tap the sound name on any post), then choose Report this sound. If you are the rights holder, choose “This is my music”. The sound is taken out of the library straight away while we review your report. You can add details such as your name, the work and how to reach you.

3. Send a Copyright Notice

You can also send a written notice to [email protected] with the subject “Copyright notice”. To let us act quickly, include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature, as the copyright owner or someone authorised to act for them.
  2. A description of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed (for music: title, artist, and a link if you have one).
  3. Where it is on Trenzi: the post or profile link, the sound name, or a screenshot that lets us find it.
  4. Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or are authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.

Notices that leave out these details may take longer to process. Sending a notice you know to be false can make you liable for damages.

4. What Happens Next

5. Counter-Notices

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, or that you have the right to use the material, you can send a counter-notice to [email protected] with the subject “Copyright counter-notice”, including:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. What was removed and where it appeared before it was removed.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts for your address (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which Trenzi may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.

We forward valid counter-notices to the person who sent the original notice. Unless they tell us within 10 to 14 business days that they have filed a court action, we may restore the content.

6. Repeat Infringers

We remove accounts of people who repeatedly infringe the copyrights of others, in appropriate circumstances.
